Howth is served by the 31 and the 31B Dublin Bus routes to the city centre. The sevice is good and reliable with a 30 minute trip into town. Cost €1.90. Its advisable to have the correct change/fare when boarding the bus as no change is given on the bus!

For journeys outside of Dublin Bus Éireann is the national bus service. Its a good service and can get you to most parts of the country in just a few hours. Its main terminus is called Busáras and is located in the centre of Dublin city on the north bank of the liffey across from the Custom House. Busáras is just a few hundred yards from where the bus or Dart leaves you coming from Howth.
